Summary. This site is owned by Mythlandia LLC (a Florida, USA entity) and is hosted in the United States. We do not operate an online store or process payments through this site. This notice explains how we collect and use information when you create an account or publish articles/images.
1) Who we are

2) What we collect
- Account data: username/display name, email address, hashed password, role/permissions, timestamps.
- User content: articles, image uploads, captions/metadata you submit. Images may contain embedded metadata (such as EXIF). We do not intentionally use EXIF for profiling, but it may be stored as part of the file unless removed.
- Communications: messages you send to support/webmaster.
- Technical/log data: IP address, device/browser info, server logs, security events, and similar diagnostics necessary to operate and protect the Site.
- Cookies / local storage: used for core functionality such as signin sessions and security; and (if enabled) optional analytics/preferences. See our Cookie Notice/Cookie Policy for details.
3) Why we use it
We use personal information for the following purposes:
- Provide the service: create accounts, sign in, publish and display articles/images, administer the Site.
- Security and integrity: abuse prevention, rate limiting, audit logs, fraud/spam detection, and incident response.
- Content moderation and enforcement: review reports, remove illegal or prohibited content, enforce site rules.
- Support: respond to inquiries and troubleshoot issues.
- Optional analytics (if enabled): understand usage to improve performance and features.
3A) Legal bases (UK GDPR / EU-style users)
If UK (or EEA) data protection law applies to your use of the Site, we rely on the following lawful bases:
- Contract: to provide the account and publishing features you request.
- Legitimate interests: to operate a secure, reliable site; prevent abuse; and moderate content. Our legitimate interests are balanced against your rights and expectations.
- Consent: for non-essential cookies/analytics where required, and for any optional features that explicitly request consent.
- Legal obligation: where we must comply with applicable law or valid legal requests.
4) Who we share data with
- Hosting/infrastructure providers used to operate the Site (server, storage, backups, monitoring).
- Email service provider (to send account or support emails), if applicable.
- Legal and safety disclosures to law enforcement, regulators, or others when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
We do not sell personal information. We do not knowingly share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5) International transfers
The Site is hosted in the United States. If you access the Site from the United Kingdom (or another country), your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other jurisdictions where our providers operate.
Where UK/EU-style transfer safeguards are required, we use an approved transfer mechanism such as Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (or the UK Addendum), as applicable, together with supplemental safeguards where appropriate.
6) How long we keep data
- Account data: while your account is active; deleted or anonymized within 30 days of a verified deletion request, except where retention is required for security, legal, or backup integrity.
- User content: retained until you delete it or your account is removed (subject to moderation actions and legal holds).
- Server/security logs: typically 30–180 days unless needed longer for security investigations.
- Backups: rolling backups retained for up to 30 days.
7) Your privacy rights
7A) United Kingdom
If UK GDPR applies to you, you may have rights to access, rectify, delete, restrict, object, and port your data, and to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
To exercise UK rights, email privacy@mythlandia.com. We may ask you to verify your identity.
You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
7B) United States (state privacy laws)
Depending on where you live, certain US state privacy laws may provide rights such as: (i) to know/access the personal information we collect about you; (ii) to delete personal information; (iii) to correct inaccurate personal information; and (iv) to opt out of certain disclosures (for example, “sale” or “sharing” of personal information as defined by some state laws).
We do not sell personal information, and we do not knowingly share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that changes, we will provide required opt-out mechanisms.
To submit a request: email privacy@mythlandia.com with the subject line Privacy Request. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. You will not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
7C) California notice at collection (summary)
If you are a California resident, categories of personal information we collect may include identifiers (such as email), internet/network activity (such as IP address and logs), and user-generated content you submit. We collect this information for the purposes described in Sections 3 and 4 above. We retain it as described in Section 6.
8) Security
We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to risk (access controls, encryption in transit, least-privilege administration, monitoring). No method is 100% secure.
9) Children
The Site is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data, contact privacy@mythlandia.com.
10) Changes
We may update this notice. We will post the new “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
